Super Human Summit is one of the most exclusive gatherings in longevity science, held each year in Stockholm and bringing together physicians, researchers, and founders shaping the future of human health and performance. This year, the summit welcomed Markus Klotz, founder of Elysium Institut, as a speaker.
Markus took the stage together with Dr. Torbjörn Ogéus to share Elysium Institut's approach to regenerative medicine — the thinking behind it, the research supporting it, and the direction it is heading. A central part of the conversation was Stempheresis, an Elysium Institut protocol developed in conjunction with Dr. Ogéus' clinic, which specialises in regenerative medicine using induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs).
Stempheresis begins with apheresis: a targeted collection of peripheral blood mononuclear cells, including hematopoietic and CD34+ stem cells, gathered while the patient simply sits in a chair. These cells form the high-quality starting material needed to generate iPSCs — adult cells reprogrammed to a pluripotent state, with the capacity to become many different cell types relevant to tissue engineering and regenerative medicine.
Recent published research has evaluated iPSC-derived cartilage for its long-term potential in repairing chondral defects, a direction Elysium Institut and Dr. Ogéus' clinic continue to follow closely. (Source: Long-term evaluation of human iPSC-derived cartilage for repairing chondral defects)
"Standing on stage together with Markus and sharing our journey, research, and vision for the future of regenerative medicine was an incredible experience. The interest, questions, and feedback afterwards were overwhelming in the best possible way. It's clear that people are looking for new solutions and a new perspective on health, ageing, and recovery.
Thank you to everyone who came, listened, and contributed to making the evening such a success."
— Dr. Torbjörn Ogéus
Elysium Institut thanks Super Human Summit and everyone present for the evening, and looks forward to continuing the conversation.
